Not exactly: Iv sedation will not treat your panic attacks long-term, but it will certainly calm/sedate you for a 1-time procedure. Many dentists/oral surgeons prescribe short-acting pre-medications before the procedure also. If having panic attacks overall (not just with dental procedures) please consider working with a psychiatrist and psychologist for best long-term results. Good luck with wisdom tooth!

Gentle iv sedation: May not require a n anesthesiologist and should leave you aware and cooperative. This may be sufficient. If you want general anesthesia, you will be unconscious and require an anesthesiologist to care for you.
