I believe that this will be conscious sedation where you'll be ultra relaxed but not asleep. Local anesthetic will ensure a pain free procedure.

I agree with Dr. Colantino. Fentanyl is a strong pain med but you will receive regional anesthesia after you are given the cocktail for conscious sedation. You won't be out completely but you will not remember anything after the procedure.
