Neonate: Not sure what you mean by a "cold". If she has fever, is not feeding normally, is sleeping excessively, acting irritable or changed in other fashions would have her seen by a pediatrician asap. If just runny nose and congestion you need to use your best judgement - but err on side of safety. Little kids get very sick very quickly.
