Some basics: Immediate swelling after head trauma suggests a blood vessel outside the skull broke & leaked. If the kid was not knocked out, is acting fine, feeding & playful you can monitor this at home. If she was knocked out, begins vomiting, becomes lethargic or otherwise spooks you have her seen. If stable you can give acetaminophen or ibuprofen & let her sleep/play as usual.
