Ganglion?: Without knowing anything more, my first thought is ganglion cyst. Does it change in size? Is it soft and or mobile? A ganglion cyst is a swelling that develops on along the sheath of a nerve or tendon, usually after some 'trauma' to that structure, though that could just have been a sharp wave of the hand. Sometimes massage with an ice cube suffices, but some need to be drained or surgical care.
