A member asked:

I have a hard knot on the side of my wrist that is not sore to touch but does cause pain up into my thumb when counting money or using a touch phone?

Wrist lump: This could be a ganglion cyst or bone spur which may compress the nerve going to the thumb on certain motions. My advice is to consult a hand surgeon for evaluation, advice and treatment,if needed.

Knot on wrist: May be a ganglion cyst . These are cysts formed near tendons/ joints. May be from overuse or trauma. Some resolve on their own or require aspiration or if persistent with pain surgery. f/u/ w/ doc http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/ganglion_cyst#1
