Why does a baby''s tongue stick out after feeding?'

Babies' tongues: Babies are developing the muscles they use for everything so sometimes they lack good control of the tongue muscle and it will hang out after feeding.

Baby's Tongue: In my experience it's probably movement following swallowing. It may be more noticeable if the baby does not have teeth. Our tongues tend to push against the roof of the mouth near the upper front teeth.

Exploring: Babies mouth everything. The tongue is an extremely tactile organ, and they use it to examine their world. With no teeth in the front to block the movement, narwal swallowing pattern in children includes tongue thrust. Should disappear when front baby teeth erupt, and that's when you should see a pediatric dentist for 1st check-up.
