Mirna ,myths ; facts: Mirna is not known to cause infection. But if have underlying infection prior to insertion mirna will not treat it. Mirena (levonorgestrel) may attach to or go through the wall of the uterus and cause other problems. Mirna is also not known to cause red cells in urine or urinary tract infection. If you have persistent pelvic or abdominal pain, see your healthcare provider. Hope this helps.

Wrong body part: The Mirena (levonorgestrel) is located in the uterus whereas urine is in the bladder. The bladder and the uterus are not anatomically connected.
