Sounds like UTI : A urinary tract infection is certainly a good start. It seems reasonable. You can follow up on the urine culture which will come back in two to three days.

Urine culture came back negative but the dip stick test was positive for red blood cells. Doesnt burn while I pee but continually burns after I pee. Also have low back pain mid to left side of back. What can cause this if not uti? Cancer?
