A member asked:

Can you be a carrier of mono? and if so, if you are tested for mono will you always test positive?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes and yes: All people infected with mono carry the virus in their lymphocytes for the rest of their life, so in a way all are carriers of mono. All normal people make antibodies to mono virus, i.e., ebv, and will test positive for life. See this site for more info. http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/infectious-mononucleosis-cause.
