A member asked:

I had mono 8 years ago, and got lab work recently and i tested positive for it again. is it possible to get mono twice? or will i always test positive

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Which test?: It depends on the test done. One of the tests is positive in the acute phase or recent infection, other tests remain positive for life. More than one type of viral infection can produce a clinical picture similar to mono due to EBV. Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex. Get HPV vaccine
