Yes: Many mono infections are subclinical and may not produce any symptoms.

Yes: There are more than one mono test and some will remain positive for quite a while after an illness that has no symptoms.It would be odd for it to be positive before you begin to have illness since the test relies on antibodies to the germ that form after you are infected.
