Possibly not: If u have " sprained " your shoulder a second time a referral to an orthopedic surgeon may be indicated. Ask your primary care physician. Frequently a good shoulder exam by an ors can yield a diagnosis ( more specific than 'sprain') that would make a MRI scan unnecessary
