A member asked:

Could a nickel sulfate hexahydrate allergy identified through a patch test trigger a mast cell response? could a low nickel diet be helpful?

Clarification: Nickel allergy is identified by a patch test. This test looks for a delayed type hypersensitivity reaction, which can be mediated by serval cells (mast cells being one of them). This type of contact allergy is effected by topical (skin) contact, not ingestion of a food or a specific diet.
