Sciatica and Feet: Typically sciatica caused by a foot injury is due to the abnormal weight bearing produced by crutches, canes, casts, boots, etc. A physical therapist should be called in to make sure your spine is stable when you are wearing a cast. Patients can get into weird positions when lugging around a cast, with even lying in bed stressful on the spine. Dr rich blake.

Possibly: Sciatica typically is pain originating in the spine or buttock region and radiating down the leg. Typically if the pain you describe is around the cast in the foot then it could be the cast was too tight and caused a local compression of nerves in the foot. If the pain radiates all the way up the leg, then it could be that altered walking pattern could have aggravated a spine issue.
