Pick your battles: Read books about teens. Educate yourself about development/adjustment to changes. Talk by not overloading with information. Just answer their questions. Put yourself in their shoes. Empathize. Pick your battles and ignore their drama. Tell them you care but set expectations for behavior; rules of the house, grades, etc. Respect their privacy. Tell them you love and care for them!
