What should i say to someone with destructive and violent temper tantrums?

Not much at the time: It depends on your relationship with the person and how destructive and violent the temper tantrums are. Generally, i would not recommend saying anything to a person who is destructive and violent. Instead, i would focus on staying safe by leaving the area and/or calling 911. It's best to suggest that a loved one get professional help during a calm and pleasant period. Stay safe yourself.

I agree and: Love answer given ; principle of safety first. Not speaking at time of outburst ; wisely leaving scene is paramount. Your "destructive ; violent" suggests possible intermittent explosive disorder. Ied is an impulse control disorder with dangerous aggressiveness out of proportion to provocation or situational stress. Associated w/ other mental health issues (see comment below) usually in young men.
