High BP: Unless until your high BP is controlled don't do any vigorous exercise activities. Because stenous exercise could further increase your high bp.

Yes: Unless you have extremely high blood pressure, then you are safe to exercise. That is not likely in your age. Your blood pressure will likely come down over time if you continue to exercise and lose weight.
