See below: The more the better. Real question is if you have enough bone for more implant. In general more implants will give you more support and retention.

Removable or Fixed?: The number of implants required for a total mandibular replacement would depend on whether the prosthesis was fixed or removable and the dentist! for me, a minimum of 3 are required for a snap overdenture, as the tripod support eliminates the wobble. Some dentist would say 2 are needed just for retention. I also believe a minimum of 6 are required for a fixed non- removable, but other may differ!

depends: Depends on the bone and what the patient is willing to do. It is up to you, the surgeon and the restorative dentist to figure out what is best for you.

Depends: Depends upon the type of restoration as well as the height and width as well as the density of the bone. For teeth in a day procedure i like to place six implants. For a prosthesis that looks like your own teeth 8 and depending upon certain factors as many as ten.

Depends: We can build 12 teeth on as few as 4 strategically placed implants. (all-on-4 procedure). For more than that , we will use 6 most frequently. However I have seen as many as 8 - 10 placed. Much depends on the opposing teeth, the amount and location of remaining bone and the location of the vital structures. The location of the inferior alveolar nerve is critical. Good luck.Choose a prosthodontist.

Why max question?: I can understand the minimum needed but why the maximum? Having more may not make your teeth look natural. It may also, due to parallelism issues, hinder long span placement. Additionally, more implants increase the risk of more implant failures. While i don't like the concept of all on four (one failure =none on three!). Six to eight can get the job done esthetically ; w-contingency plan.

Depends on the techn: Depends on the technique, type is prosthesis, materials to be use. Get an appointment with a Prosthodontist, he will guide you. But to answer you: the maximum number is one tooth, one implant ( individual crowns). 12 implants But it can be done with just 4 implants minimum ( all in 4 technique) In other words any number between 4-12.
