Yes: This is a potentially dangerous hernia. However the repair should b done by a doctor who has experience in this procedure. That may not be the doctor who is fixing the endo.

Maybe: Bochdalek hernias are there from birth, and are commonly found on ct scans. Right sided hernias typically contain a small amount of fat, are asymptomatic, and can be safely watched. Left sided hernias can be like this, but may contain the stomach or other organs. See a general or thoracic surgeon with experience in laparoscopic hiatal hernia for a consultation. Bring the ct scan!

Can a fat containing bochdalek hernia cause pain in an adult? Can the hernia be larger than suspected on ct scan? Can ct miss organ entrapment?
