Carpal tunnel...: ...Only affects parts that are distal ('downstream') from the wrist. If forearms are affected, the nerve pinch has to be at elbow or more likely shoulder/spine (so-called 'brachial plexus').

See Neurologist: Yes, carpal tunnel is specific to median nerve compression. If the ulnar nerve is compressed at the wrist(guyon tunnel) or at the elbow(cubital tunnel) then patients can have symptoms related to that. Other causes could be related to nerves being pinched in the neck area and these are called radiculopathies. In some patients diabetes or thyroid disease can cause symptoms. See a neurologist.
