Treatment : Treatment for carpal tunnel can range from conservative to surgical. Antiinflammatory medication, splints to start. Injections in the wrist. Nerve studies and posbily surgery. Carpal tunnel release can be done open or endoscopic. A hand surgeon can help. Locking fingers can represent trigger finger which can be concurrent with carpal tunnel but is a separate issue. Spasm in the muscles of the hand much like a writers cramp can also make the fingers seem like they are locked up., .

Carpal : Carpal tunnel syndrome is easily treated.The exact treatment depends on the severity of the condition. This can be determined by an examination. Often an EMG study is suggested. Your fingers "locking " may be a different problem called trigger finger. Ask your doctor for a referal to an orthopedic doctor.
