Several times at night i'll wake with my hands and arms feeling like they're a sleep and numb. sometimes it's just one hand and arm. this morning it's just the forearm into the thumb area. could this carpel tunnel?

You are likely correct, as carpal tunnel syndrome would appear the most likely answer. Your doctor could order an EMG/ NCS of both arms which could help pinpoint causation. A hand specialty consult may be useful. Wrist splints at night might have mitigate symptoms.
