TMJ pain: Pain is not normal and you need to find the reason for this pain. Talk to your dentist about a splint, or a night guard, or see a dentist well trained in treating TMJ conditions. In the meantime a soft diet will help. Take 600mg ibuprophen for pain if you can take this. Use ice 15 min on, 15 min off.

TMJoint Pain: Although a very common ailment, tmd is a complex subject and varies widely in extent of symptoms, duration, and frequency. First, try nsaid's if you can take them, hot moist compresses to outside of joint areas, soft diet, and no gum chewing. If pain persists make sure you are in the hands of an experienced and trained dentist who deals with tmd\tmj issues on a regular basis.
