Normal: Early after a surgical procedure, the tissue under the incision feels hard for up to several weeks. Surgeons refer to this as a "healing ridge". If the hard lump is large and visible however, there could be a collection of blood (hematoma) or fluid (seroma), both if which should resolve on their own. See your surgeon for an exam to be sure.

Seroma: That hard lump could just be a benign fluid collection. Just to be on the safe side see your surgeon.
