Check with surgeon: This is likely a residual hematoma or swelling from your hernia repair and should resolve. If not tender or red, you can wait until you see your surgeon as part of your routine post-op check. Otherwise call for an earlier appointment.

It is not uncommon to have scrotal swelling after a removal of a hydrocele, or even just fixing a hernia. The tissues respond to the removal of a mass (the hydrocele) by secreting fluid. It goes away on its own after several days to a few weeks.
