Is gum swelling after tooth filling normal?

Gum swelling: It is possible that the gums were irritated and swelled after having the matrix band around the tooth and a wedge during the filling process! that should go away quickly.

Very common: The gum tissue around the prepared teeth may be sore for several days. If concerned, visit your dentist for post-op appointment.
