A member asked:

Hi i just recently had a re-filling n my upper 2 teeth. after 2 weeks the pain in my gum is still there which reaches my upper jaw. is that normal?

probably not: While post-op sensitivity is not unusual after a newly placed filling, pain x 2 weeks should be re-examined and evaluated for additional pathology or complications.

New fillings: New fillings can always be sensitive. Sometimes, the composite resin material can get under the gum line and cause hypersensitivity. Call the dentist back and have him check the new fillings. Sensitivity with new fillings is unfortunate but not uncommon.
