A member asked:

How long after starting antibiotics will it take my wisdom tooth to stop hurting?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

That depends: They usually take 24-48 hours to reduce the infection and thereby lower your pain. However, antibiotics are only a temporary measure. If you do not have the source of the infection removed, both the infection and pain will return shortly after stopping the antibiotic. Usual treatment for infected wisdom teeth is removal. Talk to your dentist about this. Antibiotics wont solve your problem.
