What happens if you take sertraline and venlaflaxine?

It's OK: Sometimes, combinations of psych medications are beneficial for individual patients. No interaction between these two meds has been formally reported or evaluated. As long as they're being prescribed ; monitored by the same practitioner, you are okay taking them both together.

Don't take together: You may not feel very good. You don't need to take both from the point of view of helping with depression, as they work in a similar way on serotonin, while the venlafaxine also works on norepinephrine.. Taking them together could cause unpleasant symptoms of jitteriness and anxiety called "serotonin syndrome".
