Get a biopsy!: Go see a dermatologist and get a skin biopsy so you will at least know the diagnosis. The treatment will obviously vary accordingly.

This is abnormal: So you need to see a surgeon for his opinion. He might want to do further imaging or immediate surgery, depending on his physical exam findings.

Just x-rays?: Did they do a CT scan? Have you been seen by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon? I would keep looking for answers - try to get a diagnosis first and then go from there.
