Swelling in armpit: This is very difficult to answer without the ability to visually examine and touch your underarm. The most common abnormalities of the underarm can be divided into those that are deep under the skin and those that are on the surface. Those that are under the skin can include enlarged lymph nodes, epidermoid cysts, or some type of ectopic breast tissue. Lipoma would fit this category. On the surface swelling is usually related to the sweat glands or hair follicles in the form of folliculitis boils or hidradenitis.
