Atypical lympho: Cytes appear with mononucleosis, but they can be confused with malignant cells sometimes. If there are other abnormalities in her blood count, consult a hematologist.

Probably viral : Poikilocytes refers to abnormal shapes of the red cells. This change can be seen in many different illnesses, some significant and some not. Atypical lymphocytes can be seen in association with a viral illness.
