Probably; however:: Turmeric contains curcumin which is a natural anti-inflammatory.If your pain is related to inflammation then turmeric should help, though physical therapy,acupuncture,chiropractic/osteopathic treatment etc. may also help. Turmeric is notoriously poorly absorbed; in food combine with fats like coconut milk and black pepper; as a supplement look for extracts with bioperine or Meriva,mixed with fats.

Unlikely: Turmeric is a commonly used food additive , but does not alleviate back pain. If you are overweight, losing weight may be helpful. Exercising regularly would help by improving muscle tone.
