Heating modality: Cold and heat are simple physical modalities that are quite effective for sprains/strains and muscle spasms. Cold application ( not more than 12 minutes per application) and heat ( 10 minutes) are effective if heat bothers your joints then switch to ice. Icy-hot roll-on or patches are effective (bought at most pharmacies).
