A member asked:

Due atrial fibrillation a wrong move hurt my ankle joints.. when why it get worse when applying heat ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

In an acute injury: Ice trumps heat. Heat will cause vasodilation and make the area of injury swell more. Ice vasoconstricts and brings swelling down or minimizes it. Ice for acute injuries.
