My doc told me I have scalp ringworm. I have been on Nizoral (ketoconazole) pills and shampoo for 3 weeks and the bald spot on my head has doubled in size. Normal?

Just finished 14 days of Itraconazole capsules (100 mg 2x daily) for resistant ringworm. Ringworm faded but not gone. Doc RX'd 21 more days of this med at same dose. Given the possible liver damage from this drug, is it really worth taking? Concerned?
Have had ringworm for a number of times. Was given a dosage of Griseofulvin tablets and Miconaz cream that have been using but there is no change. The ringworms are still on the skin. What can I do?
