Tooth whitening: First of all, actual 'lasers' are not used to whiten teeth. They are intense white lights. There are many ways to whiten teeth and include otc whitening strips, in-office techniques as well as take home whitening gels in custom trays, just to mention the more common methods. See a dentist to find out what would be best for your needs.

Not required : Though it seems 'ultramodern' lasers and special whitening lights are not required for teeth bleaching ! i hope this helps.

You don't need laser: Laser is one option. There are plenty of successful methods other than with use of a laser for whitening. Simply an option.

Severalways: There are several ways to whiten your teeth. The best method for you depends on how fast you want to see results and how much change you are looking for. In office systems like zoom are the fastest. You get great results using take home trays, like opalesence, otc strips will work but take longer and not as much change.

Other options: Tooth whitening done in a dentist's office can be done with a laser, a specially designed halogen light or no light at all. Results vary but lasers do not necessarily provide better results! very good results can be obtained with home bleaching using custom made trays and bleach prescribed by your dentist. White strips and other over the counter products have minimal whitening effect.

Extrinsic stain too!: While others emphasis stain incorporated deep into the tooth's enamel. Oft times the stain is on the tooth's surface mixed into a thin layer hardened plaque. This extrinsic stain is easily removed by a dental professional and kept off the teeth by daily flossing and careful vibratory brushing at the gum-tooth interface (no sweeps, circles or strokes which hop skip and jump over hidden surfaces.
