HIV Testing: Yes, but only if enough time has passed since the exposure. I would not count it accurate till at least twelve weeks after exposure. Remember there is better testing. The HIV RNA test can be accurate 14 to 21 days after exposure. And, all in the world should know that if there is a high risk exposure infection can be prevented with post exposure prophylaxis if started within 72 hours of exposur.
