The best thing...: Is to ask the surgeon who performed the operation. I would let my patients go swimming about 2 weeks postoperatively, assuming normal uncomplicated healing.

A 57-year-old female asked:
What is the recovery time following laparoscopic appendectomy?

2-3days: It is dependent on the amount of inflammation at time of surgery; also on the person and what you call recovery.
I have had patients who have gone back to work within 3 days and some not for 3 weeks.
