7-10 days: Most people are discharged home within 24 hrs after surgery (if the appendix was not ruptured) and may return to work/school within 7-10 days. Depending on your age and overall health, you may return to sports and exercise within a few weeks, as well.

Pretty quick: Most people go home within 24 hours. Normal eating and bowel movements in 1-2 days. Back to work or school within a week. But remember- no heavy lifting for 6 weeks!
