??: Xrays should be obtained when the history and exam suggest there may be an xray finding. Since most pain originates from soft tissue, and soft tissues do not show up anything particular on xrays, they are not a necessary or helpful part of the evaluation.

Fair: While not 100% accurate, the manner in which the growth plates in humans develop and close during growth does adhere quite closely to a standard age range for each one. We use an evaluation of both the open and closed physes to determine if a patient's osseous (or skeletal) age is consistent with his or her calendar age.

No: It is not known to have that effect. There are some other radiology tests that if repeated many times could affect the ovaries or sperm but those are uncommon unless someone was very sick with something like cancer. Xrays should not cause any problem.

: The American College of Radiology recommends 100mSv in a lifetime which is equal to 1000 chest X rays or 25ct chest scans .A standing chest x ray is 0.1mSv. An average healthy individual can safely take this amount in a lifetime.

Duration : Focalinxr has 6 hour duration at most. Usually a second dose given 4 hours after the first will prolong offset symptoms. Other things you can do are: feed her on offset; exercise her on offset; don't make demands for an hour or so to minimize triggers during offset. See your doctor for medication titration.

Not if needed: The radiation dose from a chest x-ray is relatively low with modern equipment. If there is a medical indication for that type of frequent follow-up then the small risk of the radiation is felt to be justified. What is being checked to often?

Several: The primary indications i would use include abnormal breath sounds on exam, unexplained fever & breathing  rate faster than explained by fever alone. Other indicators such as pain in areas of the chest , back or abdominal  may suggest a pneumonia.

Yes: They are. If you have any concerns at all, please ask your dentist about it.

No: If you had 18 dental xrays ( a complete mouth series ) it may be equivalent to the same exposure if you enjoyed a day in the sun.  The benefit of dental xrays &amp; the information it yields far out ways any harm to you as a patient.
