why does my tooth hurt only at night?

A few thoughts..: You may be grinding your teeth at night, causing stress on the support structures of the tooth. In addition, the tooth may have an abscess, and when you lie down, the blood pressure rises in your head, causing the tooth to throb as your heart beats. Either way see a dentist for a proper diagnosis and treatment.

how long after having a tooth pulled should it hurt? had tooth pulled friday its monday night and it hurts worse now than it did the day after

Not normal: That is not normal, the pain you have is due to infection, possible dry socket, have your dentist examine  the extraction site, and prescribe proper meds.

Have it re evaluated: The success rate of root canals is normally very high, but it is possible for it to get reinfected. See your dentist to see if it requires retreatment or possibly something else.

i had an infected tooth pulled on 2/16/14. was given amoxicillin.last night 2/21/14 my upper tooth same side started to hurt. is the amox not working?r can it still be kicking out the infection? thnks

Possibly: There could be a problem with that other tooth as well. If you have taken amox. Many times in the past then it may not work as well as it used to as the bacteria in your mouth could be more resistant to it. Dry socket may be another issue here, it would be a good idea to go back to your dentist and have them check the area again.

i have a broken tooth and hurts really bad and tylenol (acetaminophen) isnt helping. and can't sleep at night. i have no insurance and was wondering what i should do?

Broken tooth: This needs to be treated by a dentist asap or it will get worse. If finances are a problem, see if there is a clinic or dental school near you. Or check with your dentist about working with care credit.

i have prescription tylenol with codeine for multi pain issues. 1 a day max is rule. tooth pain kept me up all night hurt all yesterday can take more?

Meds: Yes, Tylenol with codeine usually can be taken every 6 hours. Obviously you might want to alternate with 600 mg of ibuprofen because Tylenol with codeine does not have any anti inflammatory properties. Hope that helps!

It shouldn't: Filed down for a filling, crown or a simple bite adjustment? More information would be helpful.  For a bite adjustment the amount removed is minimal. For all restorative treatment you can be given local anesthesia if necessary.

Sinus pressure: You may be referring to sinus pressure and when bending down, the pressure becomes evident on the roots of the upper back teeth that are nearest to the sinus making them feel uncomfortable.  See your dentist to take radiographs (x-rays) to determine if this is indeed the problem or if you have decay or any other dental condition.
