for several nights i woke up with numbness in my left hand.  the numbness in my fingers goes away during the day, but i have feeling of numbness/tightness in my upper left arm and overall weakness in my left arm to my hand. what could it be? stroke?

Pinched nerve: It sounds more, based on pattern, as a compressed nerve. It can be at the cervical spine level, shoulder or even carpal tunnel which would be wrist. Starting with an exam with your doc should help and determining the cause of your symptoms. Stroke does not appear likely at this point.

This could be stroke: or it could be from other causes of left arm numbness.  Is there weakness?  Is there increased reflexes.  If you think you have a stroke you should see a doctor as soon as possible.  An MRI done with diffusion weighted imaging can tell if you have a stroke.  Ask your doctor fi this could help you.

Yes: There studies that proves that migraine sufferers have high chance of stroke. Make sure it is migraine and not aneurysm,  am etc.

Stroke: Assuming this is the area affected by your stroke, this numbness may persist. If this is a new symptom, however, I would seek immediate medical attention.

Very unlikely: Stroke would usually cause numbness or weakness, but not pain or burning. Burning sensations are almost always nerve pain, caused by a "pinch" of the nerve, usually where the nerve exits the spinal cord.

Panic attack: Given your past history I would raise the issue of panic attacks.

You are 25...the likelihood of a stroke at your ago is minimal.

Maybe arthritis: Your description of both legs going numb only when standing up sounds like something is going on in your lumbar spine, like degenerative changes of lumbar spine and discs or lumbar spinal stenosis. The fact that arms are hurting may be indicative of more spread osteoarthritis involving upper extremities. If your symptoms are severe, go to er for evaluation. But it doesn't sound like stroke to me.

Not very often: Apparently you've already been diagnosed with migraines. Not sure why you would jump to a notion like stroke when you yourself said you're having headaches. This sounds like fairly garden-variety migraines. You need to see your doctor (you must have one) to confirm this.
