Stroke: Assuming this is the area affected by your stroke, this numbness may persist. If this is a new symptom, however, I would seek immediate medical attention.

Usual approach: Find a combination of physical and occupational therapies are very helpful indeed. Although stroke likely cause of arm numbness, not unique to get superimposed peripheral nerve pinching, and might consider EMG test.
