Can diagnose : However, you should see your family doctor for a physical and have physical causes ruled out first. Mono is certainly a possibility. Thyroid should be checked and if you you have been exposed to the outdoors or knowingly had a tick bite, a lyme's titer should be done. Psychiatric cause needs to be considered as well as a primary sleep disorder.Best wishes.

Serious stress?: You sound like you're under a lot of stress.  Make sure your diet isn't making it worse.  No caffeine, soda pop, chocolate, sugar - these all increase the anxiety response.  Also nicotine or other drugs could speed up your heart rate and such. Make an appointment with your MD to be sure all is okay, and then an appointment to talk to a pro so you can learn what's bothering you and how to relax!

Possibly migraine: This could be possibly a migraine or migraine variant.  Do you get associated headaches?  How long do the symptoms last.  I would recommend second opinion if you are not comfortable with your first assessment.  Could be hormone related (not just female / male hormones) or possibly tumor (I doubt it though).

Find a life coach: Life often sends us challenges that we do not have the skills to manage. You wouldn't try to fix your bad appendix on your own &amp; shouldn't try to fix this either. You should see your doc to rule out a medical problem. If you are okay there s/he can recommend a life coach/therapist who can explore the issue &amp; teach you how to deal with this. That is what they do. Do the work &amp; life can be better.

You can: start w a medical eval. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or insight oriented psychotherapy can help. Don't isolate. Spend time w people. Use your support system. Get out. Don’t stagnate at home.  Get at least 8 hours of sleep/night &amp; eat healthfully.  Daily aerobic physical activity is a big +. Try acupuncture, tai chi, qi gong, yoga or meditation. Recommend the “Feeling Good Book" by Dr. David Burns.

Anxious: Anxiety is one of many normal emotions people can feel, so stopping it entirely is not possible.  Sometimes the intensity and focus of this is overwhelming though, and needs help. If your anxiety is intense and ongoing, i recommend you work with a mental health professional -- psychologist, psychiatrist, or both.  Practice meditation, yoga, belly breathing, or tai chi on your own.  Avoid caffeine!

Managing anxiety:: The most effective treatment for anxiety is relaxation training coupled with cognitive therapy that helps you modify the thoughts, perceptions and beliefs that trigger the anxiety. Learning to calm your body and your mind is the key. You can learn these skills on your own, but having a mental health professional "coach" you is quicker and more effective.   Entrenched anxiety may require meds.
