Hardly any: While there may be a tiny trace of magnesium in meat it is not a significant source of magnesium.
Magnesium is the heart of the chlorophyll molecule so leafy greens are the best source, but it is also in nuts, seeds, beans, whole grains, dark chocolate, figs, bananas, yogurt and tofu. Salmon is one of the best animal sources but beef has hardly any.

: Why are you taking this supplement? If you are eating a usual mixed diet you do not need magnesium or other mineral supplements.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

Doctors and vitamins: I hope you understand that the various vitamin products on the market are something that most physicians would not have any expertise in. There are vitamin standards set by the government and daily recommended doses.  These are all well displayed on the vitamin products available. 

I tell my patients to choose the vitamin of their choice. If they are males the only other caution is that no iron!

Should be.: Based on what you shared, i calculate your daily mg supplementation of about 700mg.  If your kidney function is normal, this dose of mg shouldn't be an issue.  Careful as too much mg can result in diarrhea.  Unless you have a medical condition or are on medications that can lead to mg wasting, a healthy well-balanced diet rich in nuts, soybeans, bran should provide plenty of mg for you.

i have fructose malabsorption. i'm having a surgery which needs me on laxatives. can i have magnesium citrate even though it contains saccharin?

Surgery: Saccharin is an artificial sweetner and as such use can use magnesium citrate without a problem.

i started a round of zithro today for tonsillitis. i took the zithro with a hydration packet called lmnt, which contains 60mg of magnesium malate. im worried about potential cardiac event after seeing the do not take with magnesium antacids warning?

Accepted Answer

: It is not the cardiac side effect of zithromax but taking magnesium at the same time with zithromax may decrease the effects of zithromax. Zithromax should be taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking magnesium. Good luck.
