Depends: If it is water in the ear canal from swimming, shower, etc., try drops of rubbing alcohol or vinegar diluted with water 1:1. If the fluid is behind the eardrum, decongestants and antihistamines may be helpful. If you're not sure where the water is, see your doctor.

Fluid in ear: Fluid in the ear can be in either the ear canal or the middle ear.  I am guessing that the fluid you mean is in the middle ear, which won't just come out like it would if it was in the canal.  Best way to do that is to pinch your nose and blow, so as to "pop" the ear.  This is called a Valsalva maneuver.  If you can't do that, you may need an ENT to perform a procedure like an ear tube.

hi, my names katie, i cleaned my ears out with peroxide a the beginging of the week and the left one came un clogged after i finished and drained them with water but the right side did not. ive tried to unclogg it using ear was stuff and more and more ear

Ear cleaning: You may need to see your primary care provider for some help[. They should be able to so that for you. If not, consider an ENT specialist. Hope this helps!

Well...: It is unlikely that you have irreversible damage.   Next time educate yourself as to how to get that water out of your ear.  You should dilute the alcohol quite a bit.
If by tomorrow you still have all the symptoms and they are not subsiding, you should see a Dr.

my ears get blocked as soon as any water enters the canal whenever i shower and that tends to block my hearing. it causes infection as the fluid does not drain, what would i need to do in this instance?

Booked ear: I suspect that there is a wax buildup in your ear canal and the wax softens and swells when it gets wet. A physician or Otolaryngologist can determine whether there is significant wax build up and remove it. If you are able to, I suggest that you wait until things have fully dried before getting examined and treated.

More a waste of time: If something needs to drain it will spontaneously.If you have a middle ear infection the fluid must drain into your throat from the eustachian tube.  If outer ear, it drains by itself. If you enjoy holding your head over boiling water, do so &  you can relax. I wouldn't ever do it myself.

Ear drainage: It’s possible you could have ruptured your tympanic membrane, have an otitis externa or eustachian tube dysfunction. You should see your general doctor to examine your ear.

Ear canal issue: Most likely it's an infection of your ear canal requiring antibiotic drops and cleaning. You need to see an ENT doctor for treatment.

Get checked.: You may have too much wax impacting your ear canal.  Do not try to "drain it".  Don't use q-tips either (ever!), it might make it worse. The only thing that you should put in your ear is your elbow or a piano.  See a doc for an exam soon. If you have pain or fever, get seen sooner!

hi, i have a blocked ear. i tried fixing by draining it with water in the shower which didnt work and then hydrogen peroxide 3% which also didnt work. how do i treat this? also, i have had very mild cold symptoms for 2-3 weeks.

Eustachian problem: This sounds more like your middle ear is filled with backed up mucus. This sometimes happens with/after a cold when the tube that drains mucus from the ear swells shut. Yawning a few times may allow air to enter if your issue is minor. It would likely eventually self heal when the tube swelling disappears. If it persists see your doc.
