are those "fat free" salad dressings bought in the store really fat free? which salad dressings are really fat free? i like ranch and zesty italian.

Accepted Answer

Avoid Fat Free: Yes. If they label this then there are laws. But, remember this is the worst products to buy in stores. Fat is not the cause of the obesity epidemic we have.  Sugar is the demon.  Fat free products are often stuffed full of sugars, especially concentrated fructose corn syrup. This one product is the biggest cause of our failure to really lose weight with dieting and a cause of the diabetes epidemi.

accidentally ate past dated salad dressing (oil, vinegar, parmesan) expired june 24 2014..is it still good? it smells good

Expired food: I would not eat any more of it but you will most likely be ok.

is it ok to eat salad during breakfast? i heard someone said that eating fresh vegetables for breakfast is not that good? is it true?

No not true: It doesn't matter what food you eat when as long as your diet is balanced. Our breakfast foods are tradition of the US . If you go to other countries like Japan for instance they eat fish and shrimp and noodles for breakfast !!

i know it's best to steam spinach to get the maximum nutrition but can you still get a good amount of nutrition when you eat it raw, like in a salad?

Spinach nutrition: Popeye ate cooked spinach for good reason.  :-)  you can get some nutrition from raw spinach, but the antioxidants like beta-carotene & lutein (good for your vision, too!) are much more available when cell walls are broken down by steaming or sauteing.  Also, the minerals in raw spinach (like calcium, magnesium, & iron) are bound to oxalic acid.  Gently cooking releases them for you to absorb.

Eat a balanced diet!: Google 'food pyramid' to learn about a healthy diet. Generally, try to eat more proteins and less carbohydrates & fats while maintaining pportion control and remaining physically active. Salad dressings can convert a healthy food into an item loaded with fat & salt, so always ask for the dressing on the side and dip your fork in it, rather than drowning the salad with it.

Yes: Although make sure it is a smell that you wouldn't mind having on your skin.  ;-).

Nitrates: The cured meats can add a significant amount of nitrates to your diet which has been linked to some cancers, so you may want to vary the protein portion with ex. baked chicken, egg, or cottage cheese instead of regular cheese (low in fat, high in protein).

Sounds fine: Helpful weight loss diets have natural foods that take time to chew but contain few calories. Examples include carrots, celery, and leafy lettuce (with little or no salad dressing, because dressing adds calories). When shopping for fruits, buy small ones no bigger than a tennis ball, because fruits have plenty of sugar. A calorie is a calorie, but surely avoid sugar or simple starch calories.

i feel tired all the time, particularly after eating at lunch&i only had a salad. i use the toilet a lot, could it be diabetes?

See below: Fatigue is asymptom that is very broad. Diabetes, anemia, hypoactive thyroid are just some of the few. You need to have further eevaluation to get better picture.. See your dr for early intervention.  Take care.
