i've had this weird growth under my tongue for 1+ months now. its centered under my tongue toward the tip. red and tip is white. started to hurt today?

Need to be checked: Most minor wound on tongue will go away within a month period. It is hard to tell without seeing it, but judging from its location (being in the center tip), it may be from physical trauma such as accidental biting. i noticed a dark red lump under my tongue. it doesn't hurt, there is a slight discomfort if i put pressure on it. should i be concerned? what would cause this to form?

Likely blood blister: You may unknowingly hurt the tongue and there may have been bleeding into the tissue. Watch and wait for it to disappear. If it does not go away in a week, becomes bigger, or becomes painful, it would be prudent to see a doctor.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

Tongue piercing: Please see your Dentist or an Oral Surgeon to check for infection, a common and potentially serious complication.  Dentist's don't like tongue piercings for that reason, and because trauma from the fixtures often cause excessive wear to the teeth, fractured teeth, and permanent bone/gum loss on the tongue side of the teeth.

You get them often?: Aphateous ulcer or canker sore almost always starts as a red spot then white patchy or develops a tingling or burning sensation before any other symptoms are obvious. If you have a canker sore, your mouth will feel painful. Usually heals on its own within 10 to 14 days. To be sure see your doctor or dentist.

Redness: What you describe is unlikely anything to be concerned about. Most likely an irritation, blood vessels, etc. Keep an eye on it and if it is not gone in two weeks, or it gets worse or you have any other problem, see your dentist to have it looked at.

Salivary stone: Swelling under your tongue may be due to a distal salivary gland stone. Sialolithiasis (salivary gland stones) is the most common disease of the salivary glands. Almost half of the submandibular stones lie in the distal third of the duct (located under the anterior tongue) and are amenable to simple surgical release through an incision (cut) directly onto the stone.  I suggest seeing an ent.
